Nether Padley to Rowsley

Point to point, this was the third Challenge4charity walk I did, I think. It’s quite straightforward. There are a lots of paths and it goes through Baslow and Chatsworth. I did this there and back so it was 20 miles.

One great thing here is there are free public toilets in Baslow. There’s also a great little sweet shop if you want a take away cup of tea/coffee or a sandwich or some sugary gummies. I think tea is about £1.50 so it’s great to nab something hot.

Sweet gene’s is right next to the Baslow car park, and a stone’s throw from the loos.

There’s also a few benches in the public green, right in front of all of it. If you need a rest, grab a tea, take a seat, re-tie shoes, re-pack your bag, etc.

The actual walk itself doesn’t feature any massive climbs, either way. elevation

The cut across Chatsworth can be a little bit squishy under foot. The section coming into Rowsley was like a mud pit when I walked it and it hadn’t rained especially in January.

Defo give your boots a spray of waterproofing and maybe gaitors if there’s been wet weather. I mean, it’s not a Kinder Scout peat bog but it slows you down because the cows churn the fields up.
