Rowsley to Little Longstone

Point to point, this was the first Challenge4charity walk I did. It’s straightforward enough with a cheeky hill/bit of mud, depending on the cattle, and crossing of some fields a couple of miles into Rowsley.

You have to watch out for the public footpath gates on this one as they aren’t always obvious.

It’s worth noting that Youlgreave features here – the halfway point where Challenge4charity are supplying a hot meal should you want it. We also have 11 hours to get to this point or we can’t carry on. So, starting at 7am we need to get to Youlgreave (around 25 miles) before 6pm. There’s also a big pub in Youlgreave if you are planning on only doing 25 miles.

Then it’s onto Bakewell where you can find some more stores open should you need munchies. We walk into Bakewell and then cut onto the start of the Monsal trail.

Nothing physically tough here other than the mental challenge of realising you’ve only done half of it/realised you’ve walked 50%!* delete as per your out look.
